smily Happy people
We care deeply about people. That is why we are into health and education (in case you hadn’t guessed). We enjoy people and we believe in doing right by people. That is why we have a generous refund policy. That is why we go out of our way to make things as good as they can be for our customers. That is why we ensure we are always fair, honest and open.
tree Carbon foot print
We try and keep our carbon foot print small. We looked into it carefully and made sure we save where we can. First of all we looked at where we could make cuts. Then we set to calculating consumption! All sorts of consumption, oil, gas, petrol, coal, paper, electricity, trains, plains and automobiles; then we rounded everything up and adding a more on just to be sure. Then we used a carbon calculator to work out exactly how many tons of C02 that lot came to. Then we got in touch with a company that off-sets your carbon foot print by growing trees. We know it is not ideal, but having made the cuts, we wanted to do something else to help with what was left.
book Perfect paper
We get through a lot of paper so it is important to us where it comes from! All our stationary and marketing material is printed on Take 2 Print one of growing number of recycled papers that is available in a wide selection of weights making it usable for all uses. Take 2 Print is 100% recycled post consumer waste fibers and Chlorine Free. The paper is acid free and has a nautral pH. The paper used in our home study courses manuals is also 100% recycled. We only buy recycled paper or paper from businesses that use wood from suppliers who manage their forest resources properly and that follow environmental guidelines.
recycle Recycle, reduce, reuse
We sort and recycle everything, it has become an obsession! It almost feels disappointing to put something in the bin now. If the recycling guys won’t pick it up then we save it and do a run to the recycling centre ever once and while.
light Power down
Every evening at the end of work we power down and switch off every piece of electrical equipment that can be turned off. Nothing is left on stand-by. Every little green or red light is extinguished! You should hear the silence after you do that – what a difference. Yes it takes us a little more energy at the beginning and end of every day to switch everything on and off but we don’t mind – its worth it.
flame Jumpers up, heating down
We hate using the heating. Not because we don’t like it or it costs a lot of money, but because it uses energy. When the cold comes we see how long we can hold out. We push ourselves a little further each year. It becomes a test of endurance. The colder it gets the more layers we put on, until finally we can’t move for jumpers and we have to give in.
power The power of green
We get our electricity from Juice. Set up by Green Peace all the energy comes from wind farms and renewable sources. It doesn’t even cost more than other suppliers. We would urge everyone to transfer their electricity supply to a green supplier. And of course we use energy efficient bulbs where we can.
earth We are family
We try and do what we can to support and nurture the homeopathic community. We work with three homeopathic charities: The Homeopathy Action Trust www.homeopathyactiontrust.org, The Maun Homeopathy Project www.homeopathybotswana.com and the Ghana Homeopathy Project www.ghanahomeopathy.org. For the two projects in Africa we supply free homeopathic education for to students on each program so one day in the future they will be able to create and maintain their own homeopathic clinics.
scholar Charity
We support a number of different homeopathic charities: Homeopathy Action Trust, Travelling Homoeopaths Collective, Homeopathy: Medicine for the 21st Century (H:MC21), The Maun Homeopathy Project, Ghana Homeopathy Project. Some we help promote, others we offer free homeopathic training to. We have a growing number of students from around the world learning with us for free. It is wonderful to be in the position to give the gift of homeopathy to these people. For example we have Eben in Africa, a well educated fifty year old man who desperately wants to open a practice and help his local community. And we have Michael a US prisoner who found homeopathy and a new path, he is now starting a study group with fellow inmates.
